1. Hard colored pencils and soft colored pencils

The refills of colored pencils are made of wax adhesives (vehicles) in which the dyes containing pigments are fixed in the shape of the refills. The more the content of the medium, the harder the refills. Use hard colored pencils when drawing, even if the pen core is cut long and sharp, it is not easy to break; if the soft pencil is cut too long, there is a risk of broken core.

2. Light and dark colored pencils

Light-colored refills are harder, and darker or brighter colors are softer. This is all because of the content of the medium in the pen. Try a pink color close to white! I immediately noticed that it was much harder than the bright pink refill.

3. Drawing materials other than colored pencils

Water-soluble color pencils can dissolve like watercolors when they are dipped in water; because of the small amount of medium in the powdered pencil, the picture drawn will be powdery. After drawing, rubbing with your fingers will also wipe off the powder on the painting, but But it is the most suitable method for blooming. The key pen is a paper-wrap pencil, the refill is slightly sticky, plastic, glass, wood, stone... anything can be drawn.

4. The cutting method of the refill is a very important factor when depicting

Compared with watercolors or oil paints, colored pencils are extremely limited by changes in materials and color mixing. Therefore, the strokes of colored pencils become extremely important conditions for manufacturing materials. The cutting method of the pen core affects its strokes, so it is very important to choose a brush. Although the pencil sharpener can sharpen quickly and well, the lines drawn are too uniform and lack change. You can draw a tasteful line with a sharp, uneven nib that is sharpened with a knife. As the angle changes and rotates, you might even draw unexpected lines.
